Still In Velvet!
A beautiful velvet 10 point showed up on camera while our muzzleloader hunters were in camp and even though we hadn’t gotten a single day time photo of the buck, Clint, of Oklahoma, decided to go after the buck. And this post goes to show with the right conditions and a perennial clover food plot freshly mowed, anything can happen!
This old buck still sporting a velvet rack showed up on camera during our muzzleloader hunt in one of our freshly mowed clover plots.
The buck wasn’t one of our target bucks for the week, but when he showed up, Clint, was excited to pursue the old velvet bruiser in hopes that he would show himself during the daylight hours.
Not only did the buck step out during daylight, but gave Clint a perfect broadside shot across the food plot. The buck piled up within 50 yards of the edge of the plot!
Congratulations Clint on an old, gorgeous velvet buck! We look forward to hunting with you in the future!
